• If you never got the confirmation email, it may have been sent it to your junk email folder. If it is not there, ensure you entered the correct email address.

What is the minimum age to sign up with CruiseTube?

• In order to register with CruiseTube, you must be 18 years of age.

How can I create a strong password?

• Here are three tips on making a password strong:
  • Use a combination of capital letters and numbers (ie. Maverick1121 or M4ver1ck).
  • Use at least six characters in your password.
  • Use words that are different than your name or address.
    

Email address

Will you sell my email address or put me on a mailing list?

• We do not sell our members' personal email addresses or other personal information to any third-party company. It is in our best interest to protect your privacy.

Can I change my email address?

• Your profile and all of the connections you make within CruiseTube are directly linked to your initial email address. For this reason, your email address cannot be changed.

Login and Passwords

Can I change my password?

• Yes, you can change your password. On the login page, there is a link that says "Forgot your password? Click here." It will prompt you to enter your email address. You should receive an email with a link that will take you to a "Reset Your Password" page on CruiseTube.

What will the "Remember Me" function do?

• The "Remember Me" function will save your login and password details to your computer. When you log out, your login and password will be saved. When you return to CruiseTube, the fields for username and password will already be filled.

Can I remove the "Remember Me" function?

• Yes, you can remove the "Remember Me" function by clearing your cache and deleting your cookies from your browser. This will clear the login and password fields for next time you visit. See your browser preferences on how to do this.

I have requested my password be sent to me, but I haven't received it yet.

• If you clicked on "Forgot Password?" and entered your email address and clicked "Send Reminder" from the login page, your password should have been resent to you. Be sure to check your junk email in case it was forwarded there by accident. You may also want to ensure that you entered your correct email address.

My Profile

What is the main purpose of the Profile page?

• The profile page is where you can share information about yourself. You can also post photos, video and comments here. Information you can share includes:
  • Groups you have joined.
  • Cruises you have joined.
  • News Feed about your friends.
  • Photo and Videos you've posted.
  • Friends you have befriended on CruiseTube.
  • Bulletin Board Posts from your friends.
  • Message Notifications.
  • Your Cruise Journal.

Who can see my profile?

• If your privacy setting is set to "Everyone can see my profile", then any member of CruiseTube can see your profile.
• If your privacy settings are set to "Only my friends can see my profile", then only people whom you have added as a friend on CruiseTube can see your profile.

How do I adjust the Privacy settings?

• On your profile page, click on "Edit My Profile". Scrolled down to "Privacy Settings" where you can select either:
  • Everyone can see my profile.
  • Only my friends can see my profile.
    

Can I delete my profile?

• Yes, if you no longer wish to be a part of the CruiseTube community, you can delete your profile. To do so:
  • Go to your profile page.
  • Click "Edit My Profile".
  • At the bottom of the "Edit My Profile" page, click on "Delete Account".
  • It will prompt you to confirm this request by entering your password.

News

What is the News section for?

• The News section found on your profile page updates you on your friends' actions within CruiseTube. Similarly, your friends can see updates on your actions within CruiseTube.

What shows up in my News feed?

• Your News Feed updates on friend's activity within CruiseTube. News feed stories are created when friends:
  • Update their profile.  
  • Add a photo or video.
  • Add an itinerary to their cruise history.  
  • Add a Journal Post to their Cruise Journal.  
  • Join a Group.  
  • Add a new friend.  
  • Leave a group.  
  • Leave a cruise.
  • Create a new Cruise Journal.
  • Create a Group.  
  • Join CruiseTube.
  • Review an Itinerary.  
  • Review a Ship.  
  • Write on a Friend's wall  

Who sees my News Feed?

• Your friends may see stories about your activities in their News Feed.

Photos

What is the Photo section for?

• The Photo section is where you can upload photos to your profile to share with others.

How do I upload a Photo?

To upload a photo:

• From your profile page, click on "Create an Album".
• Give your album a title and description.
• Click "Create" to go to the photo upload page.
• Click "Browse" to search for the photos on your computer.
• Select the photo for uploads and click "Open".
• You can upload up to five photos at a time.
• Click "Upload".
• The Photo page will then load, where you can give your photo a title and description, rotate the image left or right, delete or tag someone in the photo.

What does a tag in an image do?

• Tagging an image is a quick way of labeling and identifying the people within a photo. If this person is already on CruiseTube, their name can be quickly added through a drop down menu.

How do I upload my profile picture?

To add or change your profile picture,

• From your profile page.
• Click on "Change Photo".
• Click "Browse" to search for the photos on your computer.
• Select the photo for uploads and click "Open" and an image will appear in the window.
• Select your profile image.
• Click "Save".
• The window will then close and your new profile picture will appear on your profile page.

How do I tag a photo?

• You can tag a photo by clicking one of your photos in your photo albums.
• Then click "Tag Cruisers" link below your photo.
• A pop up window will appear where you can type their name.
• Select the friend from a list below. It will automatically populate if they are one of your friends on CruiseTube.
• Complete the tagging by clicking on their name.  

I have been tagged in a photo that I do not like. How do I remove the tag?

• You can remove the tag by opening the image and selecting "Remove" in the line that starts with "In this photo:".  

How do I edit the title or description on my photos?

• You can edit the title or description of your photo through these steps:
  1. Click on an album from your profile page.
  2. Click on "Edit" in the lower right hand side of the gallery.
  3. Make the change in the fields provided.
  4. Click "Save" at the bottom of the page.

I am in a photos and would like to edit the title. How do I do that?

• You can only edit the title of a photo that you have uploaded.

Cruises

How do I add a Cruise to my list of Cruises.

If you would like to add a cruise to your list of Cruises:

1. Select "Cruise "from the main top navigation bar.
2. In the "Search for Cruises" section enter the criteria that applies (I.E. departure date, destination, number of days etc.)
3. Click "Search".
4. From the search results, select the cruise you would wish to explore.
5. Click "Add Cruise" below the Ship image.
6. Select either a Dream Cruise, Upcoming Cruise or Past Cruise. Click "Yes".
7. This cruise will appear in your list of cruises in your profile page.

What if I search, and do not find any cruises?

Unable to find the cruise you are looking for?  Try narrowing down to a specific region.  For example, instead of "Caribbean", try "Eastern Caribbean.  

How do I change a Dream Cruise to an Upcoming Cruise?

If you would like to change a Dream Cruise to an upcoming cruise, follow these steps:

1. On your Profile Page, select the Dream tab.
2. In your list of Dream curises, select the cruise you wish to change.
3. On that Cruise profile, click on the "Edit" button below the image of the Ship.
4. A pop up window will appear where you can change the status of the ship from "Dream" to "Upcoming".

Groups

How do I find an existing Group?

If you would like to search for a group, you can try any of these three approaches:

• Doing a search in the top search field.
  • Type title of Group in top search.
  • Click Enter.
  • A list of matching entries will populate.
• Through a friend whom is a member of that group.
  • Go to a friend's profile.
  • Click "More" link in the Groups section to list all of his or her groups.
  • Click "Join Group" from that list.
  • Or select a Group to view the Group profile.
  • Click Join Group under the Group image.
• Through a Cruise that has that Group associated with it.
  • Select a cruise
  • Click "More" link in the Groups section to list all of its groups.
  • Click "Join Group" from that list.
  • Or select a Group to view the Group profile.
  • Click Join Group under the Group image.

How do I join a Group?

You can join a Group in the following ways:

1. Search for a Group in main search bar at the top of every page
2. From a cruise, select a group you would like to join.
3. Click on the name of the Group.
4. Click "Join Group" button below the image of Group.
5. It will be added to your profile.

How do I create a Group?

You can create a group through these steps:

• On your profile, click on the "Create a new Group" link in the Groups section.
• Give your Group a title and write a little description of your group in the fields provided.
• Click "Save".
• Your group will appear in your list of groups and on any cruise you have joined.

How do I add a Group to a Cruise?

• Groups are automatically added to cruises when you join a Cruise.

How do I leave a Group?

If you would like to leave a group:

1. Click on "More" below your list of groups from your profile page.
2. This will allow you to see all of the groups in your list.
3. Find the Group you would like to leave.
4. Click on "Unjoin" on the right hand side of the Group description.

Search

What is the difference between the search function at the top, the user search function and cruise search function?

• Each functions searches through different areas of CruiseTube to quickly pin point your search. To define your search, you can do a:
  • Keyword search in the top navigation bar.
  • User search, located on a Cruise page.
  • Cruiser search, located in the Cruise section.
    

What do I use the Search function in the top navigation bar for?

• The search function in the top navigation bar is for keyword searches. You use it if you're looking for a user, group or cruise.

My keyword Search has yielded a lot of results. How can I refine the results?

• You can further define your search by clicking on the tabs: "User", "Cruise" or "Group" to sort information by category.

My Cruise search has given me a lot to sort through. How do I further refine my search?

• You can enter further details of a specific cruise in the "Search for Cruises" box to the right of your search results.

I am looking for a Cruise, but why were there no results on my search?

• If nothing comes up on your search, try entering a more specific location. For example, if your search is for "Caribbean", try "Eastern Caribbean".

Why did I not get anything from my keyword search in the top navigation bar for a specific ship?

• The best way to find a ship is to search for the Cruiseline in the Cruises section.

Will other users know if I have searched for them?

• No, no one will know if you have searched for them on CruiseTube.

Friends

How do I find other people on CruiseTube?

There are four main ways to find people on CruiseTube:

• Search for Cruiser by name in the main search in the top navigation bar.
• Go to a specific Cruise and search by name in the Cruise Search function.
• Invite a friend to join CruiseTube by sending them an invitation buy clicking on "Invite" below your Friends section on your profile page.
• Join a group in the Groups section and befriend a group member.

How do I add a Friend?

• To add a friend, you can search for someone by name. When the results appear, click on "Add Friend". Once that person accepts your friend request, they will appear in your friend list.

I know that someone has added me as a friend, but where do I find that friend request?

• All friend requests can be found in the notification section under "Friend Requests" on your profile page.

I invited a friend by email and this person accepted the invitation and joined, but they are not showing up in my friend list.

• Once you have joined CruiseTube, you can add them as a friend by searching for their name in CruiseTube. See "How do I add a Friend" in this help section.

Someone has asked to be my friend, but I do not want to add him or her. If I delete their request, will they know?

• You can delete the friend request and he or she will not be notified.

How can I delete a friend? Will they know?

• You can delete a friend in your friend list and they will not get notified.
  • Click on "Friends" in the top navigation bar.
  • Click on "Delete Friend" to the right of their photo.
  • This friend will disappear from your friend list.

Messages

How do I send my friend a message?

• There are two ways to write and send a message:
  1. Click on New Message under the Notifications from your profile
  2. Select "Compose" in the title bar.

Or

1. Click on Friends in the main navigation bar.
2. Click on "Send Email" option should be to the right of their image.

Are messages private?

• Yes, these are private and can only be seen by you and the recipient.

Video

How do I comment on someone else's video?

1. When viewing someone else's video.
2. Click on the "More" link below the video.
3. The "Comments" feature will appear below the video. Type in your comment in the comments field below the video and click "Add".
4. Your comment will then appear below the video.

Can I delete my comment on someone's video?

Yes, you can delete your comment.

• Go to the video.
• Beneath your comment, click on "Delete".
• Click on "OK" when it asks you "Are you sure you want to delete this comment?"

My Cruise Journal

What are Journals for and who can see them?

• Journals allow you to share experiences or memories, which will be appear on the left side of your profile page and be visible for your friends to see.

How do I post a Journal entry?

• Post a Journal entry by clicking on the "More" link below "My Cruise Journal" when you are on your profile page.

Can I add to my journal entry after it's posted?

• To edit a journal post.
  • From your profile page, click on the journal post you would like to add to or change.
  • Click "Edit Post" below the text if you would like to edit the existing copy.
  • If you would like to add another post related to that journal entry, type in the "Comments" section below.
  • Click "Add" when you are finished and that text will appear below the main entry.

Facebook Connect

What are the benefits of Facebook Connect?

The benefits of linking your CruiseTube and Facebook accounts include:

• Seamlessly sharing your CruiseTube activity via Facebook News Feed updates.

• Importing your Facebook username, password and profile photo to ease the loging and registration process.

• Invite your Facebook friends to join and share with you on CruiseTube.
  

How do I log in through Facebook Connect?

Logging in through Facebook Connect is simple. If you already have a Facebook account, click the Facebook Connect button on the CruiseTube Homepage. You will be prompted to enter your Facebook login details.

For your first Facebook Connect login only:

• Existing members will have the two accounts linked by then logging in with their CruiseTube email and password.
  

New members will be prompted to create their profile. They will be prompted to create a new username and password for CruiseTube. It will then lead to the 'Edit my Profile' page and 'Invite your Friend's to CruiseTube' page.

If you are linking the two accounts, ensure you are using the same email address for both accounts.

The next time you login to CruiseTube, you can use your Facebook user name and password.

I have a Facebook account, but it's a different email address than my CruiseTube account, can I still link the two?

In order to open your CruiseTube account with Facebook Connect, they should be the same email address.

What news feeds are published to my Facebook account?

When you complete an action that would generate a News Feed story, CruiseTube will ask if you would like to publish this item to your News Feed on your Facebook profile. For a list of these News Feed items, see the News section.

How do I invite a Friend through Facebook Connect?

To invite a friend thought Facebook Connect:

• Ensure you are logged in with Facebook Connect.

• From your profile page, click on the "invite link" below your friends section.

• Your list of Facebook friends should appear in the "Invite your Friends to CruiseTube" window.

• Click the friend(s) you would like to invite to CruiseTube (select several by holding the shift key).

• Click "Send CruiseTube Invitation".

• Click the Send button in the confirmation window.

• Your friend will receive an invitation in Facebook and you will be brought back to your CruiseTube profile page.

Why does it log me out of Facebook when I log out of CruiseTube?

The system logs you out of both because you have connected the two accounts. When you log into CruiseTube through Facebook Connect, it is the same as logging into Facebook as you are using the same username and password. Therefore, when you log out, it thinks you are logging out of Facebook.
